Arctic Circle Forum: Scotland and the New North

The Scottish Government is delighted to be hosting the Arctic Circle Forum on ‘Scotland and the New North’ at Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh between the 19 and 21 November 2017. The Arctic Circle Forums are a series of specialised spin-off events from the main Arctic Circle Assembly, held annually in Iceland.

Keynote speakers will include:

  • The Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP, First Minister of Scotland
  • Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, Chair of the Arctic Circle and former President of Iceland

The programme will include high level speakers and panel discussions on:

  • Scotland and the Arctic
  • Climate change and its impact globally
  • Sustainable Development: Planning and Transport
  • Emerging Opportunities and Science Challenges
  • Energy: Innovation and Internationalisation
  • Multi-Sectoral Blue Growth
  • Young People in Remote Communities
  • Design, Innovation and Community Empowerment
