British Science Festival 2015 - Who Killed the last Auk?

The last Great Auk was killed in the 1850’s, but what were the events that lead to this species’ extinction? Help us investigate by exploring the Kelvingrove's Creatures of the Past gallery to look for clues and meet the scientists who are trying to prevent future extinctions. Over the course of this weekend, there will be activities looking at what contributes to extinctions across the world, including climate change, and at ways of protecting animals for the future.
From Auks to Talks: On Saturday 14th at 3pm there will be a talk by the RSPB's Jim Densham about the link between extinctions and climate change and what we can do about it.
