Local Connections

The Stop Climate Chaos Coalition is all about uniting diverse groups, and local networking is a fundamental part of what we do.

In 2009 local mobilising brought more than 50,000 people together in London for the UK’s biggest ever climate march. Local networking was responsible for more than 220 MPs hearing about their voter’s climate concerns six months into our new government, and it’s been central to holding Perliament to account ever since.

We need a strong climate movement, and we think connecting people from all walks of life in their communities is one of the most powerful ways to bring about change.

We’re working with people across the UK to help build local lobbying networks. Our focus is mainly on areas where we have particularly influential MPs, but we’re keen to help build networks wherever people are interested. MPs need to hear loud and clear that climate change is one of their voters’ top concerns.

In some areas we’re just helping put new people in touch with each other, in others, but we’re also offering training to those who need it, and we’ve put together some great resources that anyone can use.
So find out what’s going on near you and get involved!
Lobby your MP now and help clean up our energy supply for decades to come

Northern Connections

We held a great training and networking event in Manchester last Autumn, with contributions from John Leech MP, Friends of the Earth and Oxfam. We're looking forward to building on that this year...
