The Iona Community, is an ecumenical Christian community. Its members follows a five-fold rule, including 'acting in solidarity with victims of environmental injustice and supporting political and structural change to reduce our over-consumption of resources'. Programmes at our centres, (Abbey and MacLeod Centre on Iona and Camas on Mull) often focus on environmental and climate change issues. Camas is based on a simple lifestyle and environmental sustainability. It is powered by wind turbine and solar panels and has its own organic garden. On the mainland, we focus on these issues too in our work with young people.

Operation Noah

Operation Noah

Operation Noah is a Christian organisation which provides leadership, focus and inspiration in response to the growing threat of catastrophic climate change endangering God’s creation. Informed by science, motivated to care for creation by our faith and hope in God, and driven by the desire to transform and enrich our society to simpler, more equitable and sustainable lifestyles and patterns of consumption. We aim to encourage urgent action towards a zero carbon Britain and campaign for climate justice.
Progressio

Progressio

For the communities we work alongside in 11 countries worldwide, climate change is also water change. And water’s vital for development. That’s why we support small-scale farmers to grow drought-resistant crops, or reduce their vulnerability to flooding. And why we work with public authorities to make sure fair and sustainable access to water for people in poor communities is a priority from Peru to Yemen. And it’s why we successfully lobbied for action on water to be included in the UNFCCC process. We also work throughout the UK to change lifestyles and policies with our brilliant community of supporters. We’re Progressio. People powered development.
Quaker PSW

The sustainability work carried out by QPSW aims to support Quakers in Britain to make real their commitment to become a low-carbon, sustainable community. It also supports Quakers to campaign about climate change, and engages politically on behalf of Quakers on issues of sustainability and peace.
