Health In Your Environment (HIYE) is a voluntary sector forum which brings together groups involved in health, social and economic regeneration and environmental issues. It has a particular focus on the connections between health and the environment, where health is defined not just in terms of ill-health but in terms of well-being and quality of life.

To achieve this, we also influence policy, pioneer business partnerships and engage public support for our approach.

Concern Worldwide Scotland

Concern Worldwide is a non governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Concern’s mission is to help people who live in extreme poverty to achieve major improvements in their lives without ongoing external support. This is achieved through long-term development work, responding to emergency situations and seeking to address the root causes of poverty through campaigning, development education and advocacy work.

Croydon Real Nappy Network promotes modern reusable nappies in the Borough of Croydon by providing impartial information and advice about using washable nappies to prospective and existing cloth nappy users. Funds permitting, we offer £30 vouchers for nappies. Our motto is “Saving the planet from the bottom up!"

The Derby Climate Change Coalition is a campaigning group that brings together a wide range of organisations and individuals, who support and want to take part in activities that inform, influence and raise awareness about the effects of global warming. It believes that it is only through the efforts and actions of the largest numbers of people will governments take the measures needed to address climate change.

Eco-congregation Scotland

Eco-Congregation Scotland is an ecumenical movement which helps churches link environmental issues to their faith and take action in their church and local community. We are concerned about the impact climate change is having on the world's poorest people. We believe that faith can be an important motivator in behaviour change and are working to harness this to reduce Scotland's carbon emissions. There are currently 286 Eco-Congregations in Scotland. 100 of these hold the independently assessed Eco-Congregation Award.

Edinburgh University Students Association

Edinburgh University Students’ Association is a democratic, student-led organisation representing Edinburgh University students to the University and beyond. We are an autonomous body with registered charity status and value our independence from the University of Edinburgh. We work closely with the University to ensure a world class student experience for all students at the University. In addition to running campaigns and representing the students views to the University and other external bodies the association operates a range of commercial services including bars, catering and retail outlets. Our buildings are also host to the main events of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Energy Agency

The Energy Agency is a non-profit making organisation, providing free, impartial and expert advice to households, businesses and communities covering energy efficiency, sustainable transport and renewable energy. The Energy Agency’s mission is to reduce CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions, thus contributing to national reduction targets. The Energy Agency manage the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre for South West. It is tasked with assisting householders and local businesses throughout Ayrshire & Dumfries & Galloway to help reduce energy use as well as acting as a bridge between local authorities, consumers, trade, businesses and the energy market.

Fife Diet

The Fife Diet is a consumer network of people and communities passionate about local food and creating a low carbon sustainable food system. We are a voluntary association with a volunteer management committee and a small team of part-time, paid staff. We are funded by the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund and we have also received funding from Celebrating Fife and the Co-op Community Fund. We are also part of Nourish – Scotland’s Sustainable Food Network and Holyrood 350 peo¬ple from across Scot¬land who are actively work¬ing to reduce their com¬mu¬ni¬ties car¬bon foot¬print.

We know the Earth is our only home so wrecking it doesn't make sense. The wellbeing of people and planet go hand in hand - this has always been the inspiration for our campaigns. We've notched up major achievements: Laws to protect our countryside; Better food and cleaner water; Persuading big companies to behave better. We're famous for winning the world's first climate change law and that green recycling bin on your doorstep.

We are part of the largest grassroots environmental network in the world, uniting over 2 million supporters, 77 national member groups, and some 5,000 local activist groups - covering every continent. We exist to help people in Scotland look after the planet for everyone’s future. We think globally and act locally in Scotland, delivering solutions to climate change by enabling and empowering people to take both individual and collective action.
