National Union of Students

NUS (National Union of Students) is a voluntary membership organisation which makes a real difference to the lives of students and its member students' unions. We are a confederation of 600 students' unions, amounting to more than 95 per cent of all higher and further education unions in the UK. Through our member students' unions, we represent the interests of more than seven million students.
scvo

SCVO

SCVO works in partnership with the voluntary sector to advance our shared values and interests. We have over 1400 members who range from individuals and grassroots groups, to Scotland-wide organisations and intermediary bodies. Through lobbying and campaigning SCVO works to advance the interests of our members and the people and communities that they support.
Simpol UK

Simpol UK

The International Simultaneous Policy Organisation is a movement of world citizens who use their votes to drive the politicians of all nations to simultaneously implement the Simultaneous Policy (Simpol), a range of citizen-designed measures to bring about economic justice, environmental security and world peace. With simultaneous implementation, no nation suffers any first-mover competitive disadvantage so politicians of all parties risk nothing if they support Simpol. By "adopting" Simpol, citizens pledge to vote in future elections for ANY politician or party - within reason - that pledges to implement it.
SPEAK

SPEAK

SPEAK is a network of students and young adults who campaign and pray about issues of global justice. Through bringing change to situations of injustice, we aim to share our faith in our all-loving, all-powerful creator: God
spokes

Spokes

Spokes is a voluntary organisation with 1200 members, mainly in Edinburgh and Lothian, aiming to promote cycling for everyday transport, and to persuade councils and government to do the same. Activities include lobbying, public meetings, traffic counts, stalls, bike rides, and bike maps. Cycle use has grown from 1% of commuter trips when Spokes began to 7% now. A success has been Edinburgh Council allocating 5% of its transport budget to cycling, rising by 1% annually till the next election. A failure is that the Scottish Government still allocates under 1% of its transport budget to cycling.
SPOKES East Kent Cycle Campaign

SPOKES South Kent Cycling Campaign

An active campaign group set up to encourage cycling and publicise its benefits. We are based in the East Kent area of the UK but have an interest in better conditions for cyclists everywhere. We publish a free quarterly newsletter in which we air our views and the views of others on cycling issues and ensure its widest possible distribution. We also organise a full programme of rides and cycling events in and around Kent to be enjoyed by ordinary people.
Surfers Against Sewage

Surfers Against Sewage

Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) is an environmental charity protecting the UK’s oceans, waves and beaches for all to enjoy safely and sustainably, via community action, campaigning, volunteering, conservation, education and scientific research. SAS projects target environmental issues affecting beaches including marine litter, sewage pollution, climate change, toxic chemicals, shipping and coastal development. SAS has over 50,000 active supporters across the UK.
Sustainable Carlisle

Sustainable Carlisle

We are a network of people and projects in Carlisle, that want to make our city more sustainable for ourselves and for following generations. We wish to help create a peaceful, vibrant, resilient future based on common sense, ecological wisdom and social justice.
Sustrans

Sustrans

Sustrans makes smarter travel choices possible, desirable and inevitable. We're a leading UK charity enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day. We work with families, communities, policy-makers and partner organisations so that people are able to choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys, with better places and spaces to move through and live in.
SCAN

Swindon Climate Action Network

Swindon Climate Action Network informs people in Swindon and the surrounding areas about the problem of climate change and how to combat it.
TGWS

Take Global Warming Seriously

Poole Agenda Twenty One (PA21) aims to encourage and develop a local sustainable community in Poole. We are a local group, formed of local people, working within a national framework for delivering sustainable development in the UK. We work with the Borough of Poole, and other organisations, and are committed to protecting and improving our local environment. We aim to increase local environmental awareness, encourage the use of renewable resources, and to promote the development of environmentally friendly homes, leisure facilities and businesses for all Poole residents and visitors.
