UNISON is Britain and Europe's biggest public sector union with more than 1.3 million members. Our members are people working in the public services, for private contractors providing public services and in the essential utilities. They include frontline staff and managers working full or part time in local authorities, the NHS, the police service, colleges and schools, the electricity, gas and water industries, transport and the voluntary sector. Last year UNISON recruited 137,000 new members - 375 per day.

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is one of the world’s largest and most respected wetland conservation organisations working globally to safeguard and improve wetlands for wildlife and people. Founded in the UK in 1946 by the late Sir Peter Scott, today we complement wetland conservation work carried out worldwide with a network of UK visitor centres comprising 2,600 hectares of globally important wetland habitat. All of our work is supported by a much valued membership base of over 200,000 people.

Founded in 2007, Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC) is a fast growing and effective network of local people, businesses, organisations and leaders, not aligned to any political party. We work together to tackle climate change and transform Winchester into a low carbon district where people consume only their fair share of the earth’s resources, and where our lifestyles are not jeopardising the wellbeing of our children and grandchildren.

The Women’s Environmental Network (WEN) is the only organisation in the UK that has worked consistently to make the links between women’s lives and environmental issues. WEN’s vision is of an environmentally sustainable world in which we have achieved gender equality. Our mission is to make the connections between women’s health and well-being and environmental issues. We want to inspire women to make environmentally informed choices about their health. We aim to empower women to become agents of change in their families, networks and society, and to participate equally in an environmentally sustainable future.

The National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI) is an educational, social, non-party political and non-sectarian organisation. It was established to ensure that women are able to take an effective part in their community, to learn together, widen their horizons, improve and develop the quality of their lives and those of their communities and together influence local, national and international affairs on issues that matter to members. The NFWI is the largest women’s organisation in the UK with some 210,000 members in 6,500 Women’s Institutes across England, Wales and the Islands.

The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods, with vulnerable ancient woodland sensitively restored and better protection given to the woods and trees we already have . And we empower local people to take positive action for the wooded spaces they care about, too. Threats to woodland feel relentless right now - and woods and trees can only stay silent. Working together, we can all be the voice they so urgently need.

WDM campaigns against the root causes of poverty and inequality. We are a democratically-governed movement made up of local campaign groups based in towns and cities around the UK. Our staff in London and Edinburgh co-ordinate hard-hitting campaigns that challenge the powerful and seek to bring about economic justice for the world’s poor majority.

WWF works in over 100 countries to safeguard the environment and build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. Climate change threatens many of the planet’s species - including our own. WWF finds workable, practical solutions to the problems posed by climate change across governments, business and civil society.

999 Planet in Peril is an initiative to allow people to easily get involved in climate change campaigning and education. 999 Planet in Peril encourages people to organise local events to spread the word about climate change and has developed quizzes and games for use at home and in schools, like the ‘game for life’.

ACTSA Scotland was formed in December 1994 as the Scottish Section of the national organisation Action for Southern Africa and works to develop solidarity between Scotland and all the states of the Southern Africa Development Community. As the successor organisation to the Scottish Anti-Apartheid Movement our closest links are with South Africa and in particular with the Eastern Cape Province with which Scotland has had a particularly strong historic connection.
