CAN YOU HELP, PLEASE?

 
1)  On this Saturday, 7th July we'd welcome some more help on our stall at the Street Market in Westbury Gardens, any time between 9.00 and 4.00.   If you can offer an hour or so it would be very much appreciated; please e-mail climatechampions@gmail.com and we will get back to you.  Many thanks to all who have already offered.



2)  On Monday, Aug 27 (bank holiday Monday), at our Weswood Flower show stall we are also looking for a few more helpers, anytime between 12 noon and 4.00.  Again, please e-mail climatechampions@gmail.com if you can help.  Thank you.

Bath Spa University’s Research Centre for Writing and the Environment presents:

WRITING THE NEW NATURE - a free day of discussion between writers inspired by Nature. An invitation to writers, activists and academics to join a dialogue for collaboration.

In the face of mounting ecological disaster, can nature writing, environmental journalism andeco-literature make a difference?

Can writers and activists create a cultural re-enchantment with Nature which has political clout?

Is language part of the problem?  Where do inspiring writers get their inspiration from?



Among those joining the discussion will be Jim Perrin – traveller, mountaineer, author; John Vidal –environment editor for The Guardian; Brett Westwood – naturalist, presenter/producerBBC Natural History Unit; Richard Kerridge – ecocritic; Carrie Etter – poet, Paul Evans – nature writer.

Visit to Orchard Pig

On Saturday 7th July Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is hosting a trip to Orchard Pig in Somerset to see how they run their orchard/network with other orchards in Somerset and engage the wider community.  Lunch and tastings are on offer & the cost is £14.
