Bath Spa University’s Research Centre for Writing and the Environment presents:WRITING THE NEW NATURE - a free day of discussion between writers inspired by Nature. An invitation to writers, activists and academics to join a dialogue for collaboration.
In the face of mounting ecological disaster, can nature writing, environmental journalism andeco-literature make a difference?
Can writers and activists create a cultural re-enchantment with Nature which has political clout?
Is language part of the problem? Where do inspiring writers get their inspiration from?
Among those joining the discussion will be Jim Perrin – traveller, mountaineer, author; John Vidal –environment editor for The Guardian; Brett Westwood – naturalist, presenter/producerBBC Natural History Unit; Richard Kerridge – ecocritic; Carrie Etter – poet, Paul Evans – nature writer.
