Glenda with members of the MAKE IT LOCAL initiative

MAKE IT LOCAL is an initiative sprung from people living in, on and around the Gascoigne Estate in East London. The four elements that make it up – Dunmore Point, Wingfield House, Leopold Buildings and Gascoigne Place itself – look out onto a desert of concrete, a plethora of official notices and overflowing bins. The localism debate provides an opportunity to say what changes are needed and ways to influence it. How can it work? Can it work? MAKE IT LOCAL acts as a notice board – a tool towards change and a community-based Neighbourhood Agreement. They invite you to follow them on their journey into the unknown.

WEN is sometimes mentioned in MAKE IT LOCAL’s blog, which can be read here.
