WEN’s September 2012 E-Newsletter Now Available

Fracking Operation

WEN is happy to announce that the September 2012 edition of our e-newsletter is now available to view under the Resources tab above. Topics covered in this edition include the work WEN’s Scottish local group is doing to fight fracking and Coal Bed Methane extraction, in conjunction with Friends of the Earth Scotland. There is news on WEN’s involvement in the Energy Bill Revolution, which calls on the government to use money from carbon taxes to make our homes super energy efficient. WEN has also had an article published in the journal Local Economy, which explains how projects such as Spice it Up! revalue community food growing and the role of women in the alternative economy. Furthermore, WEN’s community seed library is now up and running; and WEN has made a short film for the Local Food grants programme about Spice it Up!, which will be screened at a Big Lottery event in October 2012.
