Wine auction in aid of WWF

Caelestis biodynamic wine auction

Renowned French oenologist Alain Moueix has created an organic, biodynamic wine under the label of Cælestis from an award-winning 2009 vintage Bordeaux Grands Crus Classés.

A selection of this exclusive wine, which is not available for sale in stores, will be auctioned on 27 November in London. All proceeds will go to WWF-UK.

This wine is a rarity - among the 176 Bordeaux Grands Crus Classés, less than 3% are organic. Biodynamic wine refers to agricultural methods, as well as the handling and processing of the fruit post-harvest in a manner that is planet-friendly and healthy.

In celebration of the event, Oscar-winning composer Jan AP Kaczmarek ('Finding Neverland') has written a piece dedicated to this special project and has autographed the bottles. Kaczmarek is a committed environmentalist and salutes the work of WWF and the objectives of the Caelestis team.

The live auction will be carried out by Dreweatts London Salerooms, 24 Maddox Street, W1S 1PP. If you would like to attend, please contact Dreweatts http://www.dnfa.com/eastbourne/

The previous auction scheduled for the 17th of September was postponed due to a "force majeure" – nature required bio-dynamic wine producers to harvest the grapes early this year, which prevented the producer from attending the event.
