International activist Dorothy Grace Guerrero from Focus on the Global South will be in the UK for the World Development Movement’s conference: Not the G8, a real agenda for global justice. On Wednesday 19 June we are holding an informal gathering in our London office to give people the chance to meet Dorothy and find out about the inspiring climate justice campaigning she does.

Originally from the Philippines, Dorothy has lived in South Africa, Tunisia, The Netherlands, South Korea, Germany and now in Thailand. Dorothy is an educator, writer, researcher, and organiser. She has both organised and participated in local and international courses, workshops and conferences on climate change, China, regional integration/ASEAN, social and environmental impacts of trade and investments, transition and democratisation. She also contributed articles and papers on these themes in many academic and independent journals and publications. She joined Focus on the Global South in June 2005 as coordinator of their China Programme. And currently works on the Climate and Environmental Justice Programme. She has been active for many years in a range of national, regional and international economic and climate justice networks.
