"When the lights switch off at 8.30pm on 29th March, it’s our planet’s time to shine! Earth Hour is the world’s biggest celebration for our amazing planet, hundreds of millions of people coming together in a symbolic and spectacular light outs display.' For the past few years Jackie Easby has organised some lovely events for CFB to mark Earth Hour but she is now in Canada. Is there anyone who would like to step in and organise something we can all join in? Email: firstname.lastname@example.org if you could - maybe a torchlight walk, a candlelit meal or vigil in the centre of town? Let us know and we will advertise it. Thank you.

STOP CLIMATE CHAOS
Stop Climate Chaos, the umbrella climate change group to which CFB belongs is changing its name. The proposed new name is The Climate Coalition which they hope is a better, more positive, reflection of the coalition and its work. They would love to know if you have any thoughts on the new name. And they need your ideas! The current SCC logo doesn't fit with the new name, so they need a new one. They want to come up with a symbol that can show we're working together as we campaign over the next few years: It could work as a badge so that anyone can feel part of the climate movement, as a theme for a campaign stunt, or simply something for organisations to put on their website to show they're part of the coalition. Please help them find one! Get your thinking caps on, and if you have an idea for a symbol or image that will convey the values of the coalition and show we're united please get in touch (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your suggestions and we'll pass them on. We have some really talented designers in BoA so it would be great if the idea could come from one of us.
Can you help the push for European climate action?
In March, European leaders will come together to agree a new EU climate deal. If thousands of us send David Cameron and Nick Clegg a message, they can push for the ambitious action that the world needs. They have the power, and responsibility, to make sure Europe ups its game - so let's call on them to deliver.
The EU climate deal is a big deal. It will shape Europe's carbon emissions and renewable energy development for the next two decades, and, if strong enough, could play a key role in raising global ambition for action on climate change. You can sign the petition here.
ECOTRICITY & GOOD ENERGY
Several people have recently switched supplier to Good Energy or Ecotricity (you can do this direct from the CFB website home page) and this is a great way of increasing demand for clean energy. CFB also gains as they send us money for every household that switches - we're currently awaiting a cheque for £75 which will be put to very good use.
The Ecotricity website now has a live display of how much energy their wind turbines are generating; you can see it here.
