Express yourself about Climate Change. Put your thoughts, fears. speculation and imagination in the spotlight and make a one minute film to change opinions and incite reaction.

Entries are welcome from all over the globe on any issue relating to Climate Change no matter what you show.

WeCAN, a member of Stop Climate Chaos, is holding an international short film competition on climate change called One Minute to Save the World.

Everyone is welcome to take part, as long as it's related to Climate Change. Witness accounts, adaptation stories, animation, innovation, satire, under 18’s, amateur film-makers, professionals, fiction, music videos…Whoever you are and whatever your take on climate change we want you to take action and make a 1 minute film to save our world!

The three best films will then be shown at the UN Climate Summit at Copenhagen, giving you the chance to voice your opinion to world leaders.

Judging

Even the Judging is exciting; judges include award-winning director and climate change activist Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth, Bandit Queen), Bruce Parry (presenter of Tribe), Working Title Films (Notting Hill, Love Actually), and Franny Armstrong (Director of Age of Stupid, McLibel).

Our in house team will select 20 finalists (these will include the top 5 highest rated films) to be judged by our International Panel of Judges. The finalists will be announced on 10th October and screened our featured section and on The Guardian Unlimited. Winners and Prizes will be announced on 30th October 17:00 (GMT)

Tag your film with 1minutetosavetheworld when you upload and download our title sequence (optional) this will help direct people to the site to vote for you. Get your entries in quickly and spread the word so you get more people watching your film and voting. One vote per person per film.

Prizes & Awards

The winning film will receive a cash prize of £1000 generously donated by Passion Pictures.

Winning films will screen in selected cinemas in the UK. Youth films will screen at the British Film Institute on November 28th with TrueTube. Three finalists will also be chosen to screen at the Copenhagen Climate Conference.
