The RSPB is warning that cooked turkey fat is extremely dangerous to birds. Many people put the leftover contents of Christmas dinner roasting tins outside, wrongly believing that it is as beneficial to birds as other fats like lard and suet. They pour the fat onto bird tables or mix it with seed thinking it will give birds energy and nutrients. But the wildlife charity is warning that it could actually kill them.

Think Nature!

The UK is failing to halt the decline of its natural environment according to a new report from the RSPB. The report measured the performance of the different UK Governments against their own targets for protecting wildlife and tackling climate change. It found that, while some are doing better than others, all are struggling to make real progress. This is despite increasing evidence of the value of the natural world to people.
